Lys Kulamadayil

Project Lead

In her role as principal investigator, Lys Kulamadayil directs Law by Colour Code and is responsible for its scientific activities and outputs. She is an international law scholar and a Swiss National Science Foundation Ambizione Fellow. Her research interests span extractivism, mineral resource governance, the legal regulation of food and ecosystems, human rights, economic law, legal theory and philosophy, as well as international law’s role in social hierarchies, particularly with regard to racism and ableism.  She has published widely on these subjects in peer-reviewed journals, including the London Review of International Law, the Leiden Journal of International Law, Transnational Legal Theory, and the Journal of the History of International Law. She is also the author of the monograph The Pathology of Plenty: Natural Resources in International Law.

Davidzo E. Dhumbura

Doctoral Researcher

Since joining the Graduate Institute’s doctoral programme in international law, Davidzo undertakes her research exploring questions of international law and ecological justice from a TWAIL perspective. She also spearheads various activities of the project.

Praggya Surana

Doctoral Researcher (2024)

Praggya joined the Law by Colour Code project in 2024 as a doctoral research collaborator shouldering much of the work of its inaugural conference in Kerala. She has since remained an Honorary Fellow of the project and continues to contribute to its events and publications.

Suzana Rahde Gerchmann

Swiss Excellence Post-Doc

Suzana joined the Geneva Graduate Institute in 2025 having been awarded a prestigious Swiss Government Excellence Fellowship to pursue her own post-doctoral project investigating gender pricing. Since joining she has become a valued member of the Law by Colour Code team and is the principal organiser of the 2026 Spring School on Race, Resources and Distribution.

Tim Lindgren

Visiting Fellow (2026)

In 2026, Tim joins the Geneva Graduate Institute’s International Law Department on an SNSF Scientific Exchanges Grant to work on the project ‘Decoloniality and Reparative Justice in International Climate Litigation’ with Lys. He also uses that time to collaborate on Law by Colour Code activities.

Angelica Vigo

Project Manager (2026-)

Since joining the Graduate Institute as a coordinator of the Global Governance Centre in 2025, Angelica has been supporting the activities of Law by Colour Code. In 2026, she takes the reins in the project’s operational aspects.

Sylvia Nissim

Project Manager (2024-25)

In her capacity as senior coordinator of the Geneva Graduate Institute’s Global Governance Centre, Sylvia managed the day-to-day operations of Law by Colour Code, and continues to lend her wealth of experience to consult on its implementation.
